150,000 square foot building slated for completion in late 2028

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, a nationally recognized leader in construction management and general contracting, announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to the campus of °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï. This strategic partnership includes the construction and development of a state-of-the-art facility, which will house Whiting-Turner’s corporate headquarters and stand as a cornerstone of the long-term collaboration between the two organizations.

"Relocating our headquarters to the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï campus represents a significant milestone for Whiting-Turner,†said Tim Regan, President & CEO. “This partnership brings together two historic Baltimore institutions with more than a century of leadership and innovation. It reflects our commitment to the future growth of our company while strengthening our ties to the community. We are excited to collaborate with °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï to create a space that cultivates engagement, innovation, and lasting partnerships for generations to come."

The 150,000-square-foot office building, slated for completion in late 2028, will be a dynamic, multi-faceted space designed to foster connections with both the °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï community and the surrounding Towson area. In addition to serving as the new home to Whiting-Turner’s local employees, the facility will also support state-of-the-art, safety-focused industry training and other community-focused initiatives. °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï and Whiting-Turner are developing ways to use the new headquarters as a hub for introducing young people to career opportunities in today’s high-tech and innovative design and construction industries. Whiting-Turner and °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï have signed a 50-year ground lease agreement, reinforcing their shared commitment to long-term growth and collaboration.

Whiting-Turner has enlisted Gensler, a premier global architecture and design firm specializing in college campuses and office buildings, to lead the design and development of its new headquarters. Diane Hoskins, a Global Co-Chair at Gensler based in Washington, D.C., will oversee the project, bringing her expertise in innovative design to create a space that reflects both Whiting-Turner’s vision and °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï’s legacy as a forward-thinking institution.

“As °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï celebrates its 140th anniversary this year, we are thrilled to partner with Whiting-Turner, another longstanding Baltimore community member and national industry leader, on their new headquarters,†says °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï President Kent Devereaux. “This partnership is future-focused and takes an innovative approach to business development, education, and community engagement while opening the door to collaborative experiential learning opportunities and workforce pipelines for future generations.†

Whiting-Turner has been headquartered at the Hampton Plaza Office Building on East Joppa Road in Towson for the past 51 years.

Whiting-Turner’s announcement comes six months after °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï and Edenwald Senior Living unveiled plans for the first university retirement community (URC) in Maryland, combining the educational and cultural activities of °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï with the services and amenities of a Life Plan Community. °Ç¸ç³Ô¹Ï’s partnership with Edenwald will create a vibrant, multi-generational community that fosters lifelong learning and connection.
